Head of Development Automation Software (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

• Responsible disciplinary and technical management of the Development Automation Software department of the Electric Automation business unit
• Responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of engineering software, runtime building blocks and infrastructure components as well as display and diagnostic software for industrial automation technology
• Organization and planning of all related development activities
• Development of new concepts according to market requirements in close coordination with the product management team
• Participation in the creation of strategic concepts and implementation strategies across departmental boundaries
• Cooperation with international development sites and external service providers 
• Close coordination with the relevant interfaces in the central departments
• Involvement in the overarching development strategy
• Representation of departmental interests in group-wide committees
   

Your qualifications:

• Successfully completed degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, computer science, technical informatics or comparable qualification
• Several years of management experience required as well as many years of experience in coordinating and managing interdisciplinary projects and development teams
• Very good knowledge and several years of professional experience in the development of software for industrial automation technology (PLC, HMI, motion, engineering tools, industrial communication) as well as the concepts of Industry 4.0
• Experience in automation technology, especially with engineering processes in mechanical engineering as well as their implementation and realization through software-supported products
• Good knowledge in requirements engineering and experience in the application of ALM systems
• Very good knowledge of English and good knowledge of German, both written and spoken
• Strong creative drive to help build a new portfolio area
• High methodological competence and affinity for agile development methods
• Analytical as well as holistic thinking and acting
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to travel

Part of the selection process is an assessment centre.
