Front-End Developer

Our client is a global leader in engineering with over 20,000 employees worldwide. They create and develop highly specialized technical tools for several applications, such as industrial automation, chemical depuration, food and beverage processing, 3D modeling, etc. Due to their strong growth, our client is recruiting Software Developers for their recently established Digital Hub in Barcelona.

Working in the Digital Hub, you will act as a catalyst of change leading key digital transformation projects across the company. As part of the hub, you will be involved in driving key strategic initiatives within eCommerce, product configuration, Analytics and Digital Sales.

To achieve its goals the Digital Hub is led by startup veterans that are creating a startup cultured unit under the umbrella of this billion-dollar Corporation. Working in this environment, you will be part of a dynamic mix of Festo Spain, the Digital Sales Hub, and Global IT, collaborating across these areas to drive innovation and digital transformation within the company.

What we are looking for:

The incoming Front-end Developer will have the opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology stack—Modern.js, Module Federation, Sass, TypeScript, OpenAPI, Docker, Vitest, Playwright—in an informal, agile, and technology-focused work environment. Since the project is in a transition phase, be aware that you will have to touch legacy code. This ranges from the "create-react-app" days all the way back to the good old jQuery era. You will be given ownership over your work and will be at the forefront of technical design and decision-making.

Role Description: 

• Develop and maintain the frontend of our constantly evolving enterprise-level global eCommerce web platform, supporting our online catalog and processing customer transactions in over 55 countries worldwide.
• Create decentralized frontend modules with a cutting-edge micro-frontend-based system architecture, powered by a tech stack certified as a first-level citizen of Module Federation.
• Create automated software tests and documentation to ensure code quality. Unit tests with Vitest and end-to-end tests with Playwright will be part of your daily routine.
• Coordinate and align development with various stakeholders, a dedicated operations team, and a QA team.
• Support and collaborate with a distributed, cross-border agile team (Spain, Germany, and Lithuania).

Requirements: 

• Degree in information technology, or similar.
• 3+ years of related professional experience.
• Strong practical experience in React, advanced state management, TypeScript, Sass, and GitLab.
• Experience with React Meta Frameworks, OpenAPI, fundamental CI/CD knowledge, Docker, and Module Federation is a plus.
• High standards for quality code and UX.3
• Ability to work in an international and diverse team with good communication skills.
• Independent and structured way of working with holistic thinking.
• Good written and spoken English skills, as you will need to speak English daily, including technical vocabulary and the ability to express complex circumstances.
• Spanish, German, and Lithuanian language skills are valued but not required.
