Summary of job contents

Assembles and tests LifeTech columns to specified requirements.  Works on shop floor by performing the following duties. Please note that when LifeTech business is not running this person will be redeployed as a general Technician to other areas as needed. 

Key accountabilities

  • Reads and interprets simple and complex engineering or production drawings, and other pertinent data in order to assemble product safely and in accordance with the applicable specifications.
  • Reads and interprets electrical /pneumatic schematics.
  • Disassemble and/or reassemble product using mechanical assembly hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, pneumatic drivers, special tools, etc.
  • Sets up machines and/or assembly equipment within assigned production area.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Operates lifting equipment, machinery and devices
  • Ability to keep performance standards at a high level.  Performance is "work quality and quantity, attitude, ability to work as a team member and communicating in a positive manner".
  • Receives, verifies, and separates work orders for components.
  • Ensures Lot Traceability with all components of the production order.
  • Verifies conformance of all components to specifications.
  • Performs testing of products during the assembly and final stage of production.
  • Some Travel may be required for training.  Domestic and International for purpose of  skill development, training or a company business event. 
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

 

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Prior assembly experience preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality system requirements, ISO 14000 environmental management and Festo product preferred
  • High level of detail and interpretation of complex process documents
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of Assembling- Training by Festo
  • Experience with using hand tools
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment.
