Mechanical Test Engineer

Summary of job contents:

 The mission of this position is to ensure the reliability and performance of electric actuators through comprehensive testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This involves defining test strategies, executing detailed test plans, and analyzing results to support product development from prototype to production while adhering to relevant standards.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Test and qualify electric actuators with focus on ballscrew and toothed belt axes.
  • Support the design team from prototype to production by providing testing assistance.
  • Work with the test manager and analyst to create test strategies, plans, and schedules.
  • Develop and conduct test plans that meet industry standards for product release.
  • Set up and execute tests in-house or at external labs, using both manual and automated methods.
  • Analyze test results for product reliability and performance, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain testing facilities and equipment, ensuring they are functioning correctly.
  • Collaborate with international teams including headquarters in Germany to improve testing processes and share insights effectively.

 

 

Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical drive technology and testing for mechatronic systems.
  • Over 3 years of experience in setting up manual and automated test systems are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with test and measurement technology in the field of electric actuators.
  • Basic programming skills for test automation and experience with environmental testing are advantageous.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with proficiency in English; basic German knowledge is a plus.
