Summary of job contents

As a highly skilled Technician, you will work as an engineering support liaison for prototype builds in Mason, as well as assisting in production optimization. Your main objective is to successfully transition prototype builds from other facilities to serial production in Mason. Identifying gaps in processes and documentation. Clearly communicate issues from kickoff, through entire build process including testing. Report project status to various stakeholders. Write standard operating procedures and work instructions using various software programs.

 

 Key accountabilities

  • Compare BOM’s to schematics and assembly drawings to confirm accuracy and communicate discrepancies to engineering.
  • Identify appropriate tooling/tools, jigs/fixtures required for efficient serial production.
  • Build prototype such as control cabinets according to documentation provided. Which may include incomplete information.
  • Record and communicate missing information from documentation to engineering.
  • Confirm build complies with workmanship standards as well as any other customer/industry standards as required.
  • Analyze production process steps and calculate standard production time by operation.
  • Confirm/optimize quality check list, including torque charts, continuity checks, ect.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings.
  • Manage and report status on open and upcoming projects.
  • Build and maintain good working relationship with design engineers at other facilities.
  • Maintain open communication with prototype plants for project builds in Mason.
  • Assist in harness build, design and support in creating construction documentation.
  • Any other tasks deemed appropriate by manager.

 

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Basic Electrical education/knowledge preferred
  • Minimum experience 1 year in electrical control cabinet assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Proficient in MS office software, (excel, word, publisher).
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to travel on occasion as needed.
