Job Summary: The ASRS Technician provides maintenance and operational support for the Automated Storage/Retrieval System (ASRS) and ancillary equipment.  This includes timely completion of preventative, corrective and emergency system troubleshooting under the direction of management.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • System administration of the ASRS application/environment.
  • Maintain regular (daily/ weekly / monthly) system monitoring and checks logs.
  • System Performance Monitoring on System Application Level (PRODIS, WVS, WSS, MFC, OPM, LBS).
  • Conduct and log root cause analysis - fault finding and diagnosis (e.g. De-bugging) when problems arise.
  • Fault recovery and resolution. (Incident Management).
  • Provide technical support for the operations teams.
  • Report generation and statistical/trend analysis.
  • Ensure system is working at optimal capacity.
  • System monitoring (order flow, picking performance, material flow).
  • Coordinate with third parties when system troubleshooting is necessary (E.g. Hewlett-Packard, Witron, etc.).
  • Assist with Software up-grades from internal and external vendors.
  • Train end users as necessary.
  • Monitoring of the EDI interface between the ASRS and SAP.
  • Other duties assigned by management

 

Knowledege & Skills: 

  • Equivalent experience and/or degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Experience with system applications and architecture (especially warehousing applications) in a network environment
  • Analytical nature and able to problem solve
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work load
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills and tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows Operating System
  • Proficient with Office Products – Word, Excel etc..
  • Familiarity with Remote Access Tools – E.g. Windows Remote Desktop, PC Anywhere, VNC
  • Experience with database structures (E.g. – Oracle, MS Access, MS SQL server)
  • Preferred: Object Orientated Programming Language – E.g. C++, JAVA, .NET
  • Preferred: Rapid Application Development tool or GUI orientated language – E.g. Visual Basic
