Summary of job content:
Responsible for the development and implementation of the product marketing strategy for Business Unit Electric Automation within the Business Region NAM, aligning with the guidelines defined by VP of Market Management NAM and Global / Headquarters organization. Plan, direct and control Product Market Management activities to achieve sales and market share targets as defined for the Business Region. Product launch management, collaboration with MARCOM to develop product communication materials, technical campaigns, trade show display requirements. Develop forecasts, sales targets, and provide inputs to demand planning to support new and existing product sales. Manage Phase-in/Phase-out, and Product Steering strategy and activities with Sales.
Key accountabilities:
- Manage all commercial and technical aspects of product marketing for Electric Automation (EA)
- To participate in planning, implement and monitor the product marketing strategy to increase market share, turnover, and build brand awareness
- Determine functions and features or products necessary for the Business Region and BU Electric Automation (EA)
- Promotion: Collaborate with MARCOM in planning, content development, creation, production and monitoring of product marketing tools and materials for sales.
- Define competitive program offering (product, price, delivery time) that fulfils the local market conditions
- To support the definition and implementation of the local pricing strategy through the proactive phase out of Inactive products and the fast introduction of new products via the Market Launch Process
- Together with Country Sales / HR develop and implement the product training plan to support the related marketing/sales focus.
- Maintain website product content within Business Region area of responsibility.
- To work closely with sales organization to achieve Profitable Growth, as well as to align with NAM Business Region Market Management and similar departments at HQ in Germany on strategy and other important BU initiatives
- To analyze the market regarding products, prices, competitors and customer satisfaction as well as new segments to be covered according to market trends
- Determine market size, market shares, and opportunities to gain share
- If necessary, look to third parties to provide additional products to complement or enhance the Festo offering in the GFIS or local selected segments
- Cultural awareness & leadership ability to fully integrate team members in each country for a unified Business Region approach
Knowledge/skills/experience:
- University Degree in/with engineering or technicial background with course work in marketing/sales/business
- MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales of industrial products or in product management, ideally in automation
- Technical understanding essential
- Good communication in English (German and/or Spanish as plus)
- Team management skills is a plus
- MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- User of Festo IT tools
