Hardware Design Engineer (Electric Drives)

Your job:

  • Hardware design and development of electric drives (power and signal electronics) with power range up to 12 KW in collaboration with other project team members (mechanic engineers, firmware developers, testing, etc.);
  • Development of analog and digital hardware boards/solutions from specification to production release;
  • Layout supervision from first scratch to series production considering EMC conform design;
  • Development, build-up and setup of prototypes as well as coordination and execution of functional tests. Supporting development of testing plans for drive systems. Debugging and testing with a hands-on mentality;
  • Product care of existing product portfolio to ensure long term availability, competitive production cost, quality and producibility;
  • Continuous monitoring of developments and trends in the semiconductor market;
  • Active collaboration in comprehensive committees along the development process (project teams, FMEA teams, etc.);

 

Technical Competencies and Requirements:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Communications or similar field;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, knowledge in German language will be considered as a strong  advantage; 
  • Very good command of MS Office; 
  • Experience with SAP and Windchill will be considered as an advantage;

 

Professional Competencies and Requirements:

  • Proven practical experience in PCB Design at least 3 years;
  • First experience in control systems engineering and analog electronics;
  • Experience in EMC, CE and UL compliant design and knowledge about main drives standards (i.e. IEC 61800-5-…)  will be considered as serious advantage;  
  • Experience in production environment is a plus;
  • Knowledge of common industrial Ethernet interfaces would be beneficial;
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro will be considered as a strong advantage;
