Developer for Data Science and AI Applications

Job Description:

 

  • Design and development of Data Science and AI applications within an international and innovative development team.
  • Development, optimization, and responsibility for AI- and Data Science-specific components within applications, such as virtual assistant systems based on multimodal RAG and agent systems.
  • Contribution to the implementation of a comprehensive digitalization roadmap to optimize business processes using AI.
  • Consulting and supporting departments in modeling and implementing Data Science and AI use cases – from requirement gathering to modeling, deployment, and versioning.
  • Training internal employees in Data Science and AI through various learning and enabling formats.

 

Requirements:

 

  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a comparable role, with a completed degree (Bachelor/Master) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Strong expertise in defining requirements and developing use cases throughout the complete lifecycle of Data Science and AI solutions – from data annotation, model selection, training, validation, deployment, to solution monitoring and refinement.
  • Strong hands-on experience with (multimodal) AI models (text, vision, speech) from open- and closed-source providers, along with proven expertise in relevant prompting and fine-tuning strategies is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with various RAG techniques and the development of single- or multi-agent systems.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in implementing Data Science and AI use cases using Python and relevant Data Science and AI libraries.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud and respective services is desirable; experience with other cloud providers and services is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with agile software development processes such as SCRUM is expected.
  • Strong communication and visualization skills to mediate between different stakeholder groups and to support colleagues.
  • Strong way of independent and team-oriented working is an essential requirement for the job positioning.
  • Very good command of English, both spoken and written, is a must.
