We are building a new AI innovation team within Festo’s Global Capability Centre in Bangalore. The team’s mission is to bring advanced AI directly into industrial products—from intelligent motion control and autonomous systems to generative AI assistants for engineers. As Lead AI & Software Engineer, you will co-lead this team and help shape the next generation of AI-powered automation. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You will define software architecture, guide AI deployment in embedded and cloud environments, and mentor a growing team of engineers. This is not a maintenance role. We expect curiosity, ownership, and the willingness to initiate new technical directions.

 

Your job:

  • Define the technical architecture for AI-enabled industrial systems
  • Lead development of AI software stacks spanning embedded, edge, and cloud systems
  • Translate research prototypes into production-grade software
  • Drive engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, reliability, scalability
  • Mentor engineers and help grow a high-performance innovation culture
  • Collaborate with global research partners and internal product teams
  • Identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and autonomy

 

Your qualification:

  • Degree in Computer Science, AI, Robotics, or related field
  • 8+ years experience in software engineering or AI system development
  • Strong experience in Python and C++
  • Experience deploying machine learning models in production systems
  • Experience designing scalable software architectures
  • Familiarity with MLOps, DevOps, and distributed systems
  • Experience with embedded AI or edge computing
  • Experience in robotics, automation, or control systems
  • Experience leading engineering teams or technical projects
  • Open-source contributions or research publications

 

Working Location: Festo India Pvt Ltd. 237 B, Bommasandra Industrial Area, Hosur Main Road, Bangalore - 99.
Working Days: 5 days
Working Model: Hybrid - 3 days WFO and 2 days WFH
Working Timings: 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM
