Supply Chain Expert, Global Supplier Development

 

Position Description:

Supports the development of supplier integration strategy and establishes/optimizes supplier integration processes, methods and tools, and integrates suppliers into Festo production system focusing on below tasks:

  • Defines and carries out strategic Demand and Quantity planning for supplier (1 year +);
  • Drives the delivery perspective on new supplier introduction and phase out of suppliers;
  • Key Stakeholder for Top supplier selection and supplier rating;
  • Develops Category Strategy together with Category Manager, Category Buyer and Supplier Quality Developer;
  • Improves supplier delivery flexibility on prioritized projects/part numbers;
  • Designs and conducts risk management to secure long-term material availability;
  • Improves process efficiency with improvement initiatives, e.g.modularized inbound logistics/supply chain concepts and solutions (e.g. call-off procedures, replenishment, inventory, transportation, packaging and etc.);
  • Optimizes supply chain cost, identify an initiate supply chain optimization;
  • Identifies/initiates and lead supplier development/optimization projects (e.g. SUPEX project, value stream mapping);
  • Negotiates cost relevant logistical optimizations and investments with supplier;
  • Negotiates and concludes Scheduling and Delivery Agreements (supplier logistics agreements) with suppliers;
  • Implements supplier integration strategy, processes and tools;
  • Benchmarks and introduces industrial best practices;
  • Digitalization of supplier collaboration and integration processes and tools;
  • Develops and aligns availability strategies and supplier risk management.


Technical Competencies and Requirements:

  • University degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related subjects;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office;
  • Good knowledge of SAP shall be considered as advantage.


Professional Competencies and Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the field of Supply Chain Management or Purchasing, or on a similar position - at least 3 years;
  • Business fluent English;
  • Good knowledge of production processes/production management;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strategic thinking and holistic thinking/acting approach;
  • Strong problem solving competence and skills;
  • Strong customer / business focus;
  • Practical experience in process optimization shall be considered as advantage – LEAN Methodology instruments, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
