Occupational Health&Safety Expert

Position Description:

• Implements and monitors Festo's health and safety standards at the site. 
• Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions in the areas of occupational health and safety.
• Supports and guides the Management into developing and implementing strategy and program for occupational health and safety.
• Advices and supports the design of workplaces, work procedures, and issues of ergonomics connected to OHS.
• Participates in projects and working groups on the purchase or commissioning of new machinery, equipment, tools, etc. to ensure compliance with OHS requirements. 
• Defines, specifies and actively participates in the selection and procurement of the personal protective equipment required for the performance of specific activities.
• Supports hazard and risk assessments in accordance with the occupational health and safety regulations.
• Carries out safety inspections/tours and coordinates the control of measures.
• Carries out accident analyses, investigating risks and root causes of accidents and suggests and initiates corrective measures. 
• Trains company employees on safety standards and other accident prevention measures, as well carry out initial instructions and follow-on training requirements.
• Participates in the preparation for the introduction of new products and technologies, obtaining the necessary permits from the authorities in the field of OHS, and conducts preliminary OHS inspections.
• Plans and implements sustainable occupational health and safety projects in accordance with strategic guidelines.
• Develops, establishes, and monitors the continuous improvement of the occupational safety management system, and rises awareness throughout the entire company.
• Coordinates the publication of articles on OHS, prepares instructions and guides the creation of posters and notices, to publicize and develop accident prevention habits. 
• Initiates the immediate suspension of work, procedures and equipment that seriously endanger health throughout the Company's territory.

Technical Competencies and Requirements:

• Higher education – in the field of occupational health and safety.
• Business fluent English.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.

Professional Competencies and Requirements:

• Previous experience in the field of Occupational health and safety, or on a similar position - at least 3 years.
• Good knowledge of health and safety and employment legislation.
• Experience in health and safety management systems
• Analytical thinking, good powers of persuasion, good communication and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of production processes.
